Piet
PIET (54) of Riversdale suffers from a spinal cord injury after being assaulted. (A legal claim is being handled by a lawyer.) This left him with paralyzed arms and legs (C5 tetraplegia). He is severely spastic because of his spinal cord injury, despite maximum oral medication. A Baclofen intrathecal pump has been implanted which has been proven to be highly effective as treatment of spasticity in SCI patients. The Fund contributed to the cost of the pump as there was no other source of funding for the expensive equipment which was urgently needed.
